Autodesk Dynamo for Revit

Course Introduction

Optimise your investment in Revit® by learning how to operate Dynamo, an visual programming platform for designers. Dynamo is a graphical programming interface that is installed as part of Revit, and it empowers you to customise your building information workflow. With this skillset, you will boost productivity and efficiency in BIM workflow.

Introduction to Dynamo for Parametric Modelling: This course introduces Dynamo, a visual programming tool that integrates with Revit and MS Excel, enabling users to automate tasks, optimize workflows, and enhance parametric design processes in construction projects.

Streamlining Communication: Explore the interaction between Dynamo, Revit, and Excel, focusing on how to exchange and manipulate data for more efficient and dynamic modelling.

Practical Application: The course emphasizes hands-on exercises with Dynamo, enhancing the ability to work with parametric models and automate design tasks.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the fundamentals of Dynamo and its role in parametric modelling.
  • Navigate the Dynamo interface, understand its key components, and set up a working environment.
  • Recognize and apply various Dynamo use cases, particularly in construction and architectural projects.
  • Integrate Dynamo with Revit to place families and automate the process of adding components to a model.
  • Modify and update family parameters within Revit using Dynamo, streamlining repetitive design tasks.
  • Export and manipulate data from Revit parameters to MS Excel for better project management and analysis.
  • Import and use Excel data to drive Revit family parameters, creating dynamic and data-driven models.
  • Automate complex design calculations and adjustments by utilizing Dynamo’s visual programming environment.
