Autodesk Navisworks Manage

Course Introduction

In this hands-on training, our experienced instructor will guide you on how to use Navisworks® for coordination and review BIM  to improve BIM project delivery. You will acquire the skillset necessary to operate the tool while boosting your skills in BIM coordination, collaboration, and project scheduling.

Introduction to Navisworks: This course provides a comprehensive introduction to Autodesk Navisworks, focusing on its capabilities for model review, clash detection, and project coordination across multiple disciplines.

Practical Application: Gain hands-on experience in using Navisworks to consolidate, analyze, and communicate design models, ensuring effective collaboration among project teams.

Advanced Features: Learn advanced tools such as animation, project scheduling, and clash detection to optimize workflows and ensure that all components of a project work seamlessly together.

Course Objectives

  • Navigate and use the basic tools within Autodesk Navisworks for efficient model viewing and manipulation.
  • Consolidate and align models from different trades into a single, cohesive file.
  • Save and retrieve views, section models, and set specific appearance options for better visualization.
  • Select, hide, and unhide model items, and investigate their properties using selection trees and search sets.
  • Use measuring tools and markup scenes for effective communication and collaboration during the review process.
  • Set up and conduct clash detection tests, reviewing results to identify and resolve conflicts between different project components.
  • Share clash test results with team members and incorporate model updates for improved project coordination.
  • Use Timeliner to create and simulate project schedules for construction sequence simulations.

Course Outline / Structure

  • Getting Started: Introduction to Autodesk Navisworks, overview of the interface, and basic viewing tools for navigating models effectively.
  • Consolidating Models: Learn how to consolidate and align models from different trades into one unified project model.
  • Review Models: Save and retrieve views, section models, set view options, and customize model appearances for better visualization and analysis.
  • Analyze Models: Select items, investigate their properties, use selection trees, save search sets, and hide/unhide items for detailed analysis.
  • Communication Tools: Use measuring tools and markup scenes for reviewing models and effectively communicating design changes.
  • Clash Detection: Set up and run clash detection tests, review clash results, assign fixes, and group clashes for resolution.
  • Clash Coordination: Share clash results with the team, incorporate model updates, and manage clash detection throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Project Scheduling: Introduction to Timeliner for project scheduling, and creating simulations
