Comprehensive Learning : This course is designed for experienced users, focusing on advanced techniques for BIM management, custom template creation, and family development

Hands-on Application : Learn to create custom templates, manage complex fanilies, and enhance BIM workflows using the advanced features of Revit®, such as conceptual massing, visualization, and collaboration tools

Enhanced Collaboration & Visualization : Learn the collaboration fearues, like linking models, working with project phasing, and generating quality renderings, to help improve project coordination and presentation

Course Objectives

  • Create and manage custom Revit® templates for standardized workflows.
  • Develop and customize building component schedules.
  • Utilize advanced techniques for family creation, including parametric modeling.
  • Work with massing tools to visualize conceptual designs and test various building forms.
  • Produce quality renderings and visualizations, including dynamic editing of conceptual masses.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other disciplines using Revit’s advanced linking and import/export features.
  • Work with phasing, design options, and project groups for managing multiple design iterations.
  • Generate accurate space planning and area analysis reports to support design decisions.
  • Use advanced visualization tools to present BIM effectively.

Course Outline / Structure

  • Custom Templates: Learn to create project templates, customize annotation types, create title blocks, and manage view templates for standardized workflows.
  • Schedules: Develop and modify building component schedules, key schedules, and material takeoff schedules, with advanced options for customization.
  • Custom System Families: Create and manage wall, roof, floor, ceiling types families, including advanced wall types and stacked walls.
  • Component Family Concepts: Master the creation of component families, parametric frameworks, family elements, and family types for tailored design.
  • Advanced Family Techniques: Explore additional tools for family creation, including visibility display settings for efficient family management.
  • Additional Family Types: Create in-place families, profiles, annotation families, and work with project/shared parameters to enhance flexibility.
  • Architectural Families: Create custom doors, windows, railings, balusters, and other architectural components to meet specific design needs.
  • Conceptual Design & Collaboration: Use massing studies, space planning, rendering tools, phasing, and linking models to enhance visualization, area analysis, and team collaboration.
