Autodesk Revit for MEP Engineering (Advanced)

Course Introduction

Advanced Revit MEP Skills : This course is designed for experienced Revit users who want to take their MEP modeling skills to the next level, with a focus on advanced family creation, parameterization, and collaboration techniques.

Comprehensive Family Creation: You will dive deep into creating smart Revit families, including complex MEP connectors, annotation families, and the use of formulas and parameters for more dynamic and flexible designs.

Enhanced Collaboration and Analysis: This course also covers best practices for collaboration in Revit®, including work-sharing, interference checks, and file interchangeability, along with advanced building performance analysis and MEP scheduling techniques.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the classification and hierarchy of Revit® families and their role in MEP modeling.
  • Gain proficiency in using the Family Editor and learn how to create custom MEP families.
  • Learn to work with various geometries in Revit®, such as solids, voids, and advanced shapes like extrudes, blends, and revolved forms.
  • Master the use of parameters to control the behavior and properties of families, including labeling dimensions and creating relationships.
  • Create advanced annotation families like tags, symbols, title blocks, and key plans for detailed documentation.
  • Use formulas within families to drive behavior and automate changes using math operators, If statements, and Yes/No parameters.
  • Develop a strong understanding of MEP connectors and how they are used to define system connections in the model.
  • Improve project collaboration by learning how to copy/monitor, transfer project standards, set up work-sharing, and coordinate with team members.
  • Gain experience with file interchangeability by importing and exporting various file formats (CAD, IFC, NWC, schedules).
  • Learn advanced techniques for view control, drafting, and MEP scheduling, including duct gauge calculations and conduit run schedules.
