Tanjong Katong Girls' School project includes the expansion of existing classrooms, multi-purpose hall, media resource library and a new integrated Indoor Sports Hall with playfield of synthetic turfing. In addition to the standard facilities, there will be new practice rooms to serve the school's music elective programme and extensive upgrading to the audio visual theatrette, music rooms and drama studio. The design essence is centred on retaining the memory of the existing circular block, enhancing the existing courtyards by converting them into outdoor performing areas, a new double volume library relocated to ground level, a new integrated Indoor Sports Hall with CCA rooms, workshop and food labs, reorganizing spaces to integrate IT resource and computer rooms with other programs to meet new teaching and learning pedagogical needs and lastly, interconnecting school peripheries with a series of outdoor decks, landscaping and a perimeter jogging track. There will also be adaptive reuse of the existing timber flooring and round casement windows which have special references to the old and current campus.
