Singapore records an important milestone in its healthcare industry in 2019 - the opening of the new National Centre for Infectious Disease (NCID).
As a city of the future projecting ahead of the curve, we are set to show the world the future of medical care.
Construction Professionals Pte. Ltd. (CPPL), as part of the CPG Corporation team on this project since the centre broke ground on 3 November 2014, is proud to see the NCID open its doors in just 4 years, ready to receive its first patients.
Given Singapore's position as an important global trade and travel centre, the NCID has been designed and built to better enhance Singapore's ability to manage outbreaks of infectious diseases. The centre is positioned to emerge a Centre of Excellence for clinical care, surveillance, training and research in infectious diseases and has the infrastructure, facilities and expertise to be a regional centre of reference. The NCID forms part of Health City Novena, an integrated healthcare master plan that is set to meet Singapore's future healthcare needs and challenges.
CPPL provided Site Supervision services to manage the full schedule of work for the NCID. The NCID construction project was an especially challenging one as the works had to be in line with the existing basement structure. The engineers took into consideration the underground linkage construction running across the road. During the excavation process, CPPL had to ensure there was minimal disruption to traffic.
CPPL has a wealth of experience in a variety of projects ranging from historical landmark building to residential, educational and religious buildings that showcase CPPL's close bond with the Singaporean identity. These include:
Sengkang General Hospital
Ng Teng Fong General and Community Hospital
State Courts Towers
National Gallery Singapore
Tanjong Katong Girls School
Masjid Al-Islah Mosque
"CPPL is forging the country's identity and is deeply involved in shaping the skyline of Singapore. Our projects preserve the roots of the country's elegant historical architecture and we are also moving ahead into the future with our work on advanced medical centres. Singapore is a CIty of Tomorrow and CPPL is proud to be one of its sculptors trusted with the bold task of craving its future." said Tan Cheng Chuah, Managing Director, CPPL.
CPPL is currently engaged in the following projects:
It is set to make another mark on the ever-changing horizon of Singapore. With CPPL, Singapore has its Future under Construction in solid hands. It is a future we are all proud to look ahead to.
