Masjid Maarof is a mosque that aspires to create a unique praying space that embodies traditional qualities. The design evolved into 2 distinctive forms (drum and L-shaped) that merge harmoniously, addressing site constraints, functional requirements and architectural aesthetics. The main prayer hall acts a main focal point for the congregants while the L-shaped block with its supporting functions, frame the prayer hall. The L-shaped block will also have the administrative spaces that anchor both the ALIVE and community facilities. The congregants will be greeted by a grand bab and the mosque will be identified through its grand voluminous hall and prominent dome. There will also be a dedicated female prayer area that has taken special consideration in the design to ensure their privacy and comfort.
